There is a Hemingway museum in Oak Park. Other famous Oak Park residents include Bob Newhart was a great comedian whose first album earned him a Grammy award. Also, Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson from The Simpsons grew up in Oak Park, as well as Ray Kroc who founded McDonalds. He also purchased the San Diego Padres franchise. Edgar Rice Burroughs lived in Oak Park and wrote Tarzan of the Apes. Betty White, a famous actress and comedian and Kathy Griffin a famous actor and comedian are also from Oak Park as was George Trafton a football hall-of-famer.
